According to the consumer price index in January 2017, Zhytomyrs'ka oblast takes the 1st place among regions of Ukraine. According to the consumer price index for food – 1st place among the regions of Ukraine. Appropriate monitoring conducted by the Department of economic development, trade and international cooperation of state administration in comparison with other regions of Ukraine, which are closest to Zhytomyr region. The General index of consumer prices in the whole Zhytomyr region as of January 2017 was 100.7%, which is 0.4% less than in Ukraine (in Ukraine-101.1%), and also less than Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Kyiv and Rivne regions. The greatest index of consumer prices recorded for transport services – 105,8% (in Ukraine – 104,1%), tobacco – 104,9% (in Ukraine – 102,1%) and outpatient services – 104,1% (in Ukraine – 102,1%).
