Chernivtsi: the Public is opposed to renaming the Park "October"
Public hearing regarding the renaming of the Park "October" took place on 1 March in the premises of Chernivtsi city Council. In the hearings took part the members of the Supervisory Council of the Park, "October", representatives of public organizations, representatives of labor collectives, public activists, deputies and concerned citizens. In total, the hearing was attended by about 100 of Chernivtsi. The participants in the discussion were primarily interested in the question of whether or not to rename. In particular, subject to rename the name of this Park, according to the Law of Ukraine "About the condemnation of the Communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and the prohibition of propaganda of their symbols". After a lively discussion and debate present by a majority decided not to rename the Park and leave the old name "October" .
