Chernivtsi: the Deputies at the second attempt supported the petition about introduction in public transport e-ticket
the Deputies at the second attempt supported the petition regarding the use of electronic ticket for fare payment in public transport Chernivtsi. During the first review petition was supported by only 20 members, after the break, the deputies decided to resume consideration of this question and 25 votes supported the petition. In Chernivtsi in 2015 preparatory work for the introduction of the electronic ticket for fare payment in public transport. In particular, the city has established and operates an electronic "Card chernivchanyna", which has a transportation module that allows its usage for fare payment in public transport. In addition, we study the experience of implementing e-payments for public transport in other cities of Ukraine and Europe. With this purpose, the foreign and Ukrainian producers held in Chernivtsi several public presentations of the e-ticket, the conditions of their implementation. This allowed to develop requirements for the design specifications of the tender documents for the supply, installation and maintenance of automated payment and control of public transport in the city of Chernivtsi. Further work on the introduction of e-ticket in Chernivtsi, as in other cities, was limited by absence of legislative base for this type of payment. To speed up this problem, Chernivtsi city Council, and city councils of other cities of Ukraine, in October 2016 adopted an appeal regarding the support of bills aimed at the introduction of the automated fare collection system in urban passenger transport. The law was adopted on 17 January 2017, which has made possible the introduction of electronic ticket for fare payment in public transport. He enters in force on 7 may this year. The city Council decided to establish a working group on elaboration of the necessary local regulations to implement the electronic ticket for fare payment in public transport, Chernivtsi, action plan for the implementation of this task, determine the volume of necessary financial resources and sources of their attraction.
