Lutsk: city public commemorated the'five Great Kobzar

March 10, marks 156 years since the death of the famous Ukrainian poet, artist, philosopher and public figure of Taras Shevchenko. Traditionally, on this day in Ukraine pay tribute to the memory of the Great Kobzar. To the monument to Taras Shevchenko, on the Avenue of faith in luck, came the Deputy Chairman of the regional state administration Svetlana Myshkovets, the Secretary of city Council Julia Vasenko, Deputy mayor Andrew Kish, representatives of creative intelligentsia, students and youth, socio-political organizations, Luciana. The clergy of Holy Trinity Cathedral, headed by Metropolitan of Lutsk and Volyn Michael has served Requiem on the occasion of the 156th anniversary of the death of the poet. Archbishop Michael, addressing the audience, drew attention to the works of Taras Shevchenko, which was left to the Ukrainian people as a priceless legacy. He urged all to reflect on the prophetic words of the great bard, because Ukraine is going through very difficult times. Participants of the meeting laid flowers to the monument to the Great Kobzar and jointly sang the national anthem of Ukraine. In the end, Julia Bosenko expressed gratitude to all who came to worship and pay tribute to the great Kobzar. “The works of Taras Shevchenko, his powerful word, and insurmountable faith in Ukraine made him famous in the international arena. To remember and appreciate the creative legacy of Shevchenko is our duty.
