Undertones of amber and its products seized in Rivne during a joint operation by prosecutors and police
On the territory of Rivne region continues systematic work of law enforcement officers in the detection, disclosure and investigation of criminal offences related to illegal production, sale and movement of amber raw on the territory of the region. In particular, the result of the joint activities of employees of the Prosecutor's office of Rivne region, the investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National police in the Rivne region and Department of protection of the economy in Dnipropetrovsk region, Department of protection of economy of the National police of Ukraine 14.03.2017, exposed and stopped activity of underground shop on processing of amber, which functioned in one of the non-residential premises in the city. In the course of the search found and seized 500 kg of processed raw amber of different fractions, the estimated cost of which amounts to 2 million UAH, as well as 6 machines to handle the "sun" of the stone. These investigations conducted in the framework of criminal proceedings initiated under article 198 of the criminal code (purchase or sale of property knowingly obtained by criminal means). Procedural management in the criminal proceedings is performed by Prosecutor's office of Rivne region. Currently, investigative actions for documenting of illegal activities of persons associated with illegal operations with amber.
