At the Vinnytsia oblast universal scientific library. K. A. Timiryazev held a workshop on "the WTO Agreement on government procurement: from theory to practice". The seminar was organized by Department of international cooperation and regional development regional state administration. The aim of the workshop was the need to address issues regarding successes and failures faced by companies participating in tenders abroad, as well as the importance of discussing the main problems which the company did not participate in the tenders and the issue price of the participation in international tenders for domestic companies. Among the experts participating in the seminar was attended by the project Manager GPAinUA Taras Shimko, project expert GPAinUA Anna Milenina, an expert on procurement Inga Landowska. Opening the workshop, with welcoming remarks by the Deputy Director of Department of international cooperation and regional development Hope Nasikovsky, which introduced the participants and briefed about the agenda of the seminar. Talking about the benefits of signing the WTO agreement on government procurement, Ann Milenina noted that Ukraine, as a party to the agreement participates from the point of view of the negotiation process and the accession process to the WTO agreement on public procurement, carries out market assessment and evaluation of the national legislation of the countries participating in the agreement. "The WTO agreement is absolutely the market, it identifies General principles which should be implemented procurement procedures, it is mutually beneficial opening of the markets of public procurement in each of the countries party to this agreement. To date, the agreement includes 46 countries, including Ukraine. It's a really powerful economy, it is 28 countries of the EU, the US, Canada, Japan, all those countries that have very strong stand on my feet." - said Anna Milenina. About the new opportunities this agreement opens up for Ukrainian businesses Taras told Shimko. He stressed that this agreement greatly simplifies the access of domestic companies to foreign markets. In turn, talking about GPAinUA, Taras Shimko noted the fact that the aim of this project is to ensure and create conditions for efficient participation of Ukraine in the market of international tenders. "The agreement is valid for almost a year and we did not realize what benefits this agreement may bring Ukrainian business. The main goal of our project GPAinUA – to develop the mechanism of work of the agreement and to launch it into action. It is important that there are already a number of companies that participated in public procurement in the framework of GPAinUA, a number of companies have already signed contracts, some received offers and qualify. And we see that there is a positive experience from the signing of the WTO agreement on government procurement", - said Taras Shimko.
