the mayor of Ternopol Sergey Nadal, along with other heads of the administrative centres participated in the meeting of the Board of the Association of Ukrainian cities (AUC). The meeting was chaired by the Prime’Prime-Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman. The head of Ternopil, who is also the Chairman of the Committee on the budget policy of the ASU says that during a meeting with top government officials discussed the issue of implementation of medical reform and the formation of hospital districts, the increase in electricity tariffs for urban electric transport, energy efficiency and other issues of the work of local authorities. In particular, the participants raised the question of repealing the excise tax on the retail sale of tobacco products. After all, according to members of the Board, repealing the excise tax, the Government can threaten the stability of filling profitable part of local budgets. “the Audience were discussed and proposed to the Government a mechanism how to provide revenues to the budgets of all cities and how to check the completeness of payment of the excise tax that the city had the opportunity to provide reliable functioning of the sector of education, medicine and proper implementation of current and capital repairs in the city», - said Sergey Nadal. The Government and the relevant Minister noted the necessity of introduction of the boiler on the alternatives fuels, so they approved the activities and Ternopil city Council and other local authorities which have switched to alternative fuels. The head of Ternopil at the meeting proposed a program of development of city electrotransport. “in accordance with the program, provides for the establishment of preferential tariffs, fees for electricity for municipal electric companies, as well as the implementation of the state program, under which the city would be able to buy new trolleybuses at a reduced interest loan”, adds the mayor.
