Chernivtsi City Council has opposed the introduction of fees for connection to the gas supply system
At the next session of the Chernivtsi city Council of VII convocation deputies adopted an appeal to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine concerning the abolition of the subscription fee for connection to the gas supply system. "March 28, 2017 by the National Commission, carrying out state regulation in spheres of power and utilities, has taken another anti-people decision, which wrongly set the tariffs for distribution and supply of natural gas. No less cynical step of the authorities is the introduction of the state "Oshchadbank" of the Commission over utilities. This is an absolute outrage, because, according to the law "On housing and communal services" in the amount of the payment already includes the services of banks. As a result, citizens, including the poor, will pay a monthly subscription fee regardless of actual gas consumption. This will lead to the increase of 13-15 billion in spending to pay for gas, the cost of which is unreasonably high by previous governments. For the Chernivtsi region is the increase in the payment amount for each family that uses the services of gas supply, from 59 to 115 UAH per month (depending on different factors – the type of meter, etc.)! We emphasize that these amounts are not subject to the subsidy, therefore if someone hopes that the waste will cover the subsidy, that it was a mistake" – the statement says. Deputies are reminded that in many cases the gas mains are laid, the own funds of residents, and then donated the balance of gas firms – who now want to obtain for their use the subscription fee. On this basis, the city Council has a number of requirements. Among them: to cancel the decision NKREKP of March 28, 2017, which introduced a monthly fee for the connection to the gas supply system; to take measures to provide adequate legal assessment of the actions of officials NKREKP on the subject of illegal decision and to prosecute under the current legislation of Ukraine; to return to the state all property gas distribution network; determine the formula of tariffs legally – storage, transport and consumption, and not at their own discretion NKREKP.
