the Day of melanoma in Ternopil region will be held on April 13. This is the ninth all-Ukrainian Day of diagnosis of melanoma in the framework of the pan-European programme "Bromelaina". On this day, according to tradition, everyone will be able to get a free examination to detect malignant neoplasms at an early stage. Doctors specialized medical institutions in the country, including some private, will be receiving citizens. The main purpose of the event was to convey to the public information about such a dangerous disease like melanoma and its consequences, and to help in the early detection of signs of a malignant degeneration of a nevus. Melanoma is one of the most malignant tumors of the skin, which in the first year after diagnosis can lead to death. Morbidity statistics in recent years has tended to increase. That is why it is important at an early stage, to diagnose melanoma. It depends on the further treatment and the preservation of life. Thus, the results of the last year in Ukraine the Day melanoma was viewed by over 95 thousand people, among which was previously installed 222 cases of melanoma! In just 8 years (2009-2016) the Day of melanoma in Ukraine has been viewed by 235 of 958 people, among whom it was revealed 769 melanoma and 2101 cases of skin cancer. 13 April 2017, every citizen of Ternopil and Ternopil region resident will get the opportunity to check your moles.
