Yuriy Lutsenko: in the Course of a month will be created bodies of prosecutorial self-governance
April 15, entered into force the Law of Ukraine "On Prosecutor's office" in fulfillment of the provisions regarding the functioning of the prosecutorial self-government and Qualifications and disciplinary Commission of prosecutors. This was during a press conference in Rivne announced the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko. "Now begins a radical reform in management system of bodies of Prosecutor's office in the state. Previously the attorney General had the authority, to appoint and remove any. Now everything is changing, under current legislation as of 15 April, I lost dictatorial powers of appointment," - said Yuri Lutsenko. The Prosecutor General informed that during the month will be created bodies of prosecutorial self-governance. He also said that, according to the Law, will be a meeting prosecutors at all levels and the Central office, which will elect delegates to participate in the all Ukrainian conference of prosecutors, during which will be already elected members of the Council of prosecutors of Ukraine and Qualification and disciplinary Commission of prosecutors. According to the General Prosecutor, these bodies will shape the personnel policy: the Deputy attorney General to the prosecutors of the district. "It will slow down personnel, but I think it is very good given the fact that the Prosecutor's office will cease to be post-Soviet. I understand that there are many organisational problems, however it is a step in the right direction to all forms of totalitarianism, including the Prosecutor, must end," concluded the attorney General.
