From now on, all medical support of the Armed forces of Ukraine will meet international standards

the Ministry of health of Ukraine together with the Ministry of defence has prepared a draft order on the procedure for the supply of medical equipment to Armed Forces of Ukraine in peacetime. Providing divisions of military units (from medical facility medical company) and training bases and chairs in military medical training, this time was regulated by the outdated orders and regulations, developed in Soviet times. With the aim of introducing qualitative changes in the organization of supply of medical property APU in peacetime, the joint working group has developed a new delivery mechanism. Henceforth, the provision of medical units APU will be based on NATO standards, and observing the practice of evidence-based medicine. What are the key changes envisaged with the new order of delivery of medical property Mat? With the aim of reducing corruption risks in connection with the bringing of normative legal acts in compliance with the international standards changed all trade names of drugs international nonproprietary names, which represent the active substance. From the list of required assets excluded those drugs that have no evidence base, and outdated medications that are no longer used in civilized countries. The new procedure also establishes that the solutions for infusion must not be in glass containers and in plastic that will make it impossible for them to split and is very convenient for transportation. And most important - finally the list appeared painkillers and drugs for anesthesia, which the medical company almost was not provided and, consequently, operations often had to spend almost without anesthesia. Another innovation is the introduction of dummies to the list of equipment of training centers and military medical Academy. From now on the mannequins should be on the balance sheet and used during the exercises the medical staff of the APU, including cadets of the military medical Academy that will improve their level of training and contribute to developing skills for proper and effective medical care in real situations. Of course, the introduction of modern and effective drugs and medical devices, will inevitably lead to increased costs to purchase them, but there's an important outcome is quality care and the opportunity to reduce the number of deaths that can be prevented. Thanks to the joint work of the Ministry of health and the Ministry of defence have another win on the medical front - the Armed forces of Ukraine will not only get the most modern kits, but from now on, all medical support will comply with the international standards. This was reported in the Ternopil regional state administration
