On the constant control in the Prosecutor's office of Volyn is the enforcement of the rights of convicts serving their sentence in a State institution "Kovel's'ka educational colony". As is known in Volyn region, law enforcement bodies of the region during March-April 2017 4 initiated criminal proceedings on revealing facts getting convicted of bodily injury, including the potential for them causing the workers of the colony. The pretrial investigation production continues, its course is on control at the management of Prosecutor's office of area. In addition, the head of the local inter-district Prosecutor's office immediately organized a check on the issues of timeliness and completeness of providing convicts who have had injuries, health care, and other violations of prisoners ' rights. By results of check the head of the West inter-regional Department for execution of criminal sanctions and probation service of the Ministry of justice of Ukraine introduced a requirement for the consideration that the disciplinary charges brought against 9 officials of the institution, including the head of the colony was severely reprimanded. Respect for the rights and interests of prisoners serving sentences in prison, with the participation of the head of the local inter-district Prosecutor, first Deputy head of the West inter-regional Department for execution of criminal sanctions and probation service of the Ministry of justice of Ukraine, authorities of State institutions "Kovel's'ka educational colony" was discussed at a joint meeting with the Deputy Prosecutor of the region. According to the results of the meeting, with the aim of improving the performance and condition of observance of the rights of prisoners developed a number of joint activities, including conducting due diligence in the institution of execution of punishments, with the participation of bodies of state power and control.
