26 April on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, near the memorial complex «Victims of the Chernobyl disaster and nuclear tests" in the Park of National revival took place the meeting-Requiem. The priests of the traditional Christian churches have served Requiem for the lost liquidators of the Chernobyl accident. Representatives of the authorities and the public laid flowers to the monument’has sign. Participation in the event was attended by the mayor of Ternopol Sergey Nadal. Remembering the events that led to the catastrophe and the indifference of the Soviet regime, the head of Ternopil expressed gratitude to the people who have gone Chernobyl hell 31 years ago. “the City Council is working with the organization of Chernobyl, meet periodically with representatives of the organization discussed their problems and solutions at the local level, - says the head of Ternopil. – This year we are increasing the assistance to victims of the Chernobyl accident, they planned to allocate apartments contained in the city budget funds for free medicines and also agreed with the carriers that they will be transported in public transport of Chernobyl i-II category, on preferential terms”.
