Chernivtsi paid tribute to the memory of victims of the Chernobyl accident
several Hundred citizens gathered April 26 at the Central city cemetery at a Wall of memory of victims of the Chernobyl disaster a rally-Requiem dedicated to the 31st anniversary of those tragic events. It was attended by the heads of city and region, representatives of public organizations, religious confessions, students and schoolchildren. The event began with a Requiem service in memory of the victims of the Chernobyl accident. After the flowers of merit went to the Wall of memory of victims of Chernobyl, representatives of the office of DSNS in Chernivtsi region solemnly laid garlands. Pupils of Chernivtsi military sports boarding school were released into the sky white balloons as a symbol that the memory of the terrible tragedy in 1986 will remain in our hearts forever, no matter how many years passed.
