Victor Muzikor: the region is experiencing a Renaissance regarding sports infrastructure
For two years in the Ternopil region there is a rapid development of sports infrastructure. In different parts of the region host an upgraded sports halls, built playgrounds and fitness areas, Kosivska near a pool, which was waiting for almost 30 years. In 2017 ohms in this region also planned a lot. Victor, recently the Chairman of the Ternopil regional state administration Stepan Barna announced the reconstruction of the "Water arena "Ternopil". Tell us more, what are you talking about? — Construction of the "Water arena, "Ternopil", it is necessary to divide all work into two phases. The first of them, by the way, will be completed by the end of this year, provides for the reconstruction of hydraulic structures of the rowing channel Ternopil pond. What is it? You need to bring to the object the normal way, build the start and finish tower, judges room, podium and to reconstruct other technical areas. Two years ago after a huge break we carried on this channel trial competitions — the championship of Ukraine among students. Clearly, the channel is operated and a certain level of competition, connecting the enthusiasm and zeal can be carried out on the infrastructure that is there now. However, if we want to draw on national, and especially international competition, we need substantial renovation. By the way, the international competitions or training camps for foreign teams after the reconstruction of the channel is very real. We have good logistics, and countries where well developed rowing and Canoeing located near Ukraine. Regarding the second phase of the project, yet no specific dates of its implementation. I can only hope that work will begin in 2018. The second phase of the project "Water arena "Ternopil" involves the construction standard of the playing hall with tribunes in which the regional center, with training rooms and fitness rooms. In addition, the planned construction of a sports hotel and a number of sports fields and courts, and possibly cross-country stadium. – The whole sports complex will be located in the area of the rowing channel? – Yes, there are approximately 25 ha of vacant land and the construction of such a sports facility will allow to concentrate in one place almost the entire sports infrastructure required for training and competing. Moreover, all of our schools that support the sport, and even have a professional gaming team located in center or "Friendship", and the construction of a normal road to reach the property, which is located in 2-3 km from the town centre, will not be difficult. So, I think that the construction of a "Water arena "Ternopil" in the end, will give impetus to the development of not only rowing, but also other popular in Ternopil sports. However, let's focus on the execution of the first phase of the project. — If the reconstruction of the water arena already managed to get on the specific terms of work, at the biathlon base in Pidhorodne the situation remains confusing... — This is true, but a few days ago, the Minister of youth and sports of Ukraine Igor Zhdanov convened an urgent meeting on the biathlon complex in Pidhorodne, which added a positive. It is clearly stated that the solution to all problems of the base, but already there except for the light and water turned off, and the gas, is possible only under condition of its transfer in state property. While the base belongs to society "Kolos", which has no funds to Finance it, and therefore on the basis of growing debts, and it gradually declines. We cannot allow the destruction of such a sports facility, so of course we will not sit back and watch as the local head of the "Spike" George Huntc literally killing Ternopil biathlon. If this object will remain the property of "Ear", it is quite possible that in the end the building will pass to someone on rent 29 - 49 years and we'll lose the base forever. Something similar happened in Kiev on the Trukhanov island, when the athletes came in one day on the sports database and saw an ad that the building is occupied by long term tenants and they just have nowhere to do it. I don't want that to happen in Pidhorodne. During the meeting, the Minister made the decision to open in Ternopol branch of the Centre for Olympic training in biathlon, to take back to the work of the coaches (and we have of course wonderful coaching capacity) and athletes. Accordingly, after the establishment of the center in Ternopil will return to elite weapons of our leading athletes, which was temporarily taken to Chernigov. I think that in parallel with it will come the necessary equipment and ammunition for training and we will receive full support from the Ministry, worthy of the level of performances of our athletes. — That is, until about the implementation of the project of reconstruction of the base and in particular the sports road is too early to say? — Last year was developed pre-project documentation and created a visualization of the reconstructed line. There was a lot of positive feedback from fans and experts, and really want to is failed to implement. And not yet will be highlighted in the corresponding plot to speak of development, even the project of the new tracks is not worth it. The land cannot be a private institution, which is now the society "Kolos", therefore, really to talk about any changes relative to the base and tracks can only when they will become the property of the state. — What the sports infrastructure of the planned work this year? — In the 2017th, we plan to reconstruct 15 of sports infrastructure. In addition to these "Water arena "Ternopil", note the construction of sports halls with stands in Zbarazh. There are also cultivated sports plus very well developed school of wrestling, so this room needed the city. A very interesting project going to implement in Kozova, where you will repair a sports hall and will finish the second floor of the school. This town frequently hosts the sports competitions of various levels and a new second floor will be used, including, and as a sports hotel for accommodation of delegations from other cities. We are also planning the construction of several playgrounds in standard sizes with artificial turf, a number which will be placed fitness zone. Recently this ground was opened in Kozova, and by the end of the year these objects will appear in several centers and GSS. In General, in my opinion, regarding the sports infrastructure of the region is now experiencing a kind of Renaissance period. In the area come large funds from the state Budget, and local governments understand the importance of sport for health and development of future generations. The sport is becoming more affordable for the average resident of the area. So I have only a positive perception of the processes of change in the Ternopil region. Perhaps we were not entirely satisfied with the pace and want, that all this happened faster and more productive, but, even with those small budgets work is very powerful, and sport mode is enabled full favored. Stepan Barna, Chairman of the governors: "For us the sport was, is and will remain one of the priorities in the work. Over the previous two years, we reconstructed (rehabilitated, equipped or reconstructed) more than 20(!) gyms in the area. And this is only the beginning. In the nearest plans — the restoration of the rowing channel, which we call the “Water arena “Ternopil”. In addition, future plans to open four mini-football fields with artificial turf. In General, we have signed a Memorandum with the Ukrainian football Federation on the construction of the first stage of such venues in all districts of the region, and the second in all communities, will be a real contribution to the implementation of the program of development of sport and in particular football in the countryside".
