may 11 Department of software and computer software in conjunction with the General Department conducted training on the theme "Open data: quality, acceptable formats, protection of personal data". A year has passed, as according to the Decree of Cabinet of Ministers ¹ 835 from October 21, 2015 "On approval of Provisions on data sets that shall be made publicly available in the form of open data", local authorities are required to publish data in the form of open data. This year has been significant work has been done in this direction. Lutsk city Council on the state open data portal published the 34 datasets, 9 of them promulgated by the Department of social policy. Our work contributed to the fact that Ukraine this year has risen by 30 positions in the world ranking and ranked 24th place for open data. The use of open data will provide the opportunity to create innovative projects that have social significance and commercial potential. After open data have economic value when they create products or services that help solve everyday problems and improve the quality of life. During the study it was about quality and acceptable formats of open data, on account of personal data protection when creating and publishing open data, and also about prospects of development of open data and their harmonization. The head of Department Nadezhda Bortnik told the audience that the Executive bodies of the city Council received proposals on extending the List of open data. There are still a number of problems that we must solve. Special attention should be paid to the relevance of information and its timely updating, choosing the right data structure and unify the data using the metadata/data description.
