Chernivtsi nurses celebrate their professional holiday
the Department of health of the Chernivtsi city Council congratulates the nurses of the city on the occasion of the professional holiday. International nurses day is celebrated annually on may 12 – the birthday of the English nurse Florence Nightingale (1820-1910). This day is celebrated since 1997 by initiative of the Ministry of health of Ukraine and Association of nurses. Officially, the holiday was established in 1971, the International Council of nurses, and before that by decision of the International Federation of the red cross. According to historical information, during the Crimean war F. Nightingale organized in Turkey to care for wounded soldiers of the allies (the coalition of France, the Ottoman Empire, Britain and Sardinia). Later in England she founded the first nursing course. Every two years the international Committee of the red cross gives 50 medals named Florence Nightingale – the highest award for nurses. Her in 1912 he established the League of International red cross and red Crescent nurses and volunteers of the medical service who had distinguished themselves in war or in peacetime. in medical institutions of Ukraine employs more than 402 thousand Junior specialists with medical education. Of these, more than 290 thousand nurses, accounting for 61% of the total number of Junior specialists with medical education. The ratio between physicians and average workers is 1: 2,15. Training of specialists with higher medical and pharmaceutical education in Ukraine is carried out in 120 institutions of higher education. Today in medical institutions of the city of Chernivtsi works 1852 Junior medical specialists with medical education, of which certified to the relevant qualifying category 1244 people (67% of the total workforce). To celebrate world nurses day in the city carried out the following activities: – carried out meetings of the head nurses and assistants in nursing with a discussion of the organization Regional competition "the Best medical sister of 2017.", took place the draw of participants of competition; – passed the evening of questions and answers, themed evenings, round tables; – presented proposals to the administration of medical institutions for awarding the best nurses with diplomas and monetary awards; – published an article in the newspaper "Health of Bukovina"; – released sanitary bulletins. The high professionalism of the nurses, her ability to communicate with patients, the possession of psychological skills to help achieve the main goal – the speedy recovery of the sick person.
