In the Rivne region will judge and Deputy chief district police,who received 300 US dollars of improper benefits
the Prosecutor's office of Rivne region completed the investigation and sent to court the indictment against the Deputy chief of one of regional departments of police of GUNP in the Rivne region, who committed a corruption crime. The investigators and procedural leaders set the evidence of extortion and receiving a police captain illegal benefit in the sum of 300 US dollars from the citizen for the return of his vehicle seized during the investigation of criminal proceedings on the fact of a traffic accident. Criminal activity of the police was exposed and terminated in March 2017 as a result of joint actions of prosecutors, Offices of the security Service and internal security in the Rivne oblast Department of homeland security, the National police of Ukraine. The actions of the suspect are qualified under part 3 of article 368 UK of Ukraine (obtaining illegal benefit by the official which holds responsible position, combined with extortion). In against the person the court at the request of the Prosecutor's office applied the preventive measure in the form of detention with possibility of bail. Also a police officer currently suspended from his post. Punishment will be determined by the court. Reference: for a specified criminal offence penalized by deprivation of liberty for a period of 5 till 10 years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to 3 years, with confiscation of property.
