The country is heavily dependent on energy imports. More than 1,000 hospitals about 430 thousands of beds are among the most energy-intensive public institutions. Individual hospitals spend up to 20 percent of their budget on energy. The aim of the project: Hospitals participating in the project will use energy more efficiently. This will be demonstrated by the measures for energy modernization that will require minor investments and to optimize the ratio of costs and results. Calls The recent rapid growth of energy prices led to substantial economic pressure on health care institutions and restricted the scope of their financial capacity, which led to a decline in the quality of medical services. Energy modernization, which includes mainly event without investment or with little investment, is not carried out at present. Energy saving potential in hospitals is generally high, but hospital staff often lacks the necessary resources and knowledge to implement it. In addition, not enough consultation on the subject of energy efficiency and financial capabilities. Measures In order to significantly improve the energy situation in Ukrainian hospitals, the project will operate in the following areas: • Given the hard budget constraints of the concept of energetic modernisation, the focus will be on low-cost investment measures, as well as the optimization processes and the changing consumer behavior. This makes it possible to achieve significant savings of energy and money. • Available investment funds will be used in a manner that will ensure the highest possible profitability. Based on this criterion, the demonstration will be implemented modernization measures. • Hospitals will have access to special Advisory and financial possibilities. Support will be provided also in the development of innovative financing opportunities. • To ensure a significant effect of distribution, the project will support relevant stakeholders in the development of communication platforms and exchange of information..
