Chernigov has demonstrated solidarity with the Crimean Tatar people
Yesterday, may 18, was celebrated the Day of memory of victims of deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944 and the Day of struggle for their rights. On the occasion of honoring the memory of victims of genocide of Crimean Tatar people in Chernihiv more than 300 students took part in a Patriotic flash mob "Crimea is Ukraine". On a hillside near the Cathedral of St. Catherine, the participants drew a map of the Crimea and launched a large improvised national Flag of Ukraine. At a rally near the memorial sign "Fighters for the freedom and independence of Ukraine" in the framework of the open regional event, "Unconquered Crimea" was initiated by public organizations of Crimea "bulk" and "single family of Chernihiv region", brought together representatives of the Crimean community in the region, public organizations, students, government officials, concerned residents, to commemorate the victims of the genocide of Crimean Tatars. On the ground near the St. Catherine Church was exhibited exhibition dedicated to the annexation of Crimea, which was prepared by the representatives of the NGO "Crimean community". From Catherine's Church, the participants went Patriotic on the way to the Movie-a creative cultural center with a national-Patriotic education of children and young people, where everyone could watch the concert and art program. The event continued with a round table "Topical issues and prospects of internally displaced persons from Crimea". The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman – head of regional state administration Natalia Romanova, the representatives of the authorities, the settlers and the public. The meeting participants also discussed the role of national-Patriotic education in the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. They believe that since the childhood it is necessary to accustom children to the devotion of his people, pride in cultural achievements and, if necessary, ready to defend their country.
