Agrarians of Zhytomyr already planted potatoes on 100% of the planned area
In all categories of farms of the Zhytomyr region potatoes planted on 67,0 thousand hectares that makes 100% of the forecast, including agricultural enterprises of the root planted by 3.0 thousand hectares (100%). About it reports management of agroindustrial development of regional state administration. — "In Zhytomyr has completed planting potatoes. The plants grow normally, spring frosts stopped their growth, but did not significantly affect performance," – said the head of Department Ruslan Kyrylyuk. Except potatoes, as of may 23, agrarians sowed spring grains and legumes to 225,8 thousand hectares (98% of the forecast), including early grains and legumes on the area of 70.0 thousand hectares (100%). Sowing of spring wheat in all categories of farms conducted on an area of 13.3 hectares (108%), seeds of barley sown 23.9 thousand hectares (100%), oat of 26.0 thousand hectares (88%) and pea – 6.8 thousand hectares (162%). Corn for grain was sown on 139,4 thousand hectares (100%), buckwheat – by 8.9 thousand hectares (87%). Among industrial crops sugar beet in the field was sown on 10.5 thousand hectares, accounting for 107% of the required sunflower to 74.9 thousand hectares (99%), soybean seeds were sown on 132,9 thousand hectares (95%).
