Ternopil region is preparing for the National pilgrimage to Zarvanytsya (program of pilgrimage)
About 100 thousand pilgrims expected pilgrimage to Zarvanytsya this year. This was announced June 1 during a meeting of the organizational Committee on holding of the National pilgrimage to Zarvanytsia S. Archbishop and Metropolitan of Ternopil-Zboriv of the UGCC Vasyl (Semeniuk). "This year's National pilgrimage to mark the 150th anniversary of the coronation Zarvanitskoy of the miraculous icon of the blessed virgin Mary, the 125th anniversary of the birth of Patriarch Josyf Slipyj and prayer for peace in Ukraine. We expect pilgrims from abroad and from different cities of Ukraine – from Kiev, Donetsk, Kherson, Poltava, Vinnytsia region", - said the Archbishop and Metropolitan Basil. He said that on Friday, July 14, will go a column of pilgrims from Archikatedralna Cathedral SPB. During the movement of pilgrims, they will be accompanied by cars of traffic police and the ambulance. On the route of the pilgrims will operate in emergency mode medical facility, located in stationary medical facilities of the respective villages and settlements. Saturday, July 15, the Patriarch and cardinal Sandri will meet with the youth. Traditionally will be a March with candles to the miraculous place. "Despite the fact that the expected number of pilgrims is quite large, and also on the importance of this event, all those involved in Hajj should exert maximum effort to ensure the highest level of its implementation", - noted the Chairman of regional state administration Stepan Barna. During the meeting discussed the issues of water supply, fire safety, security, volunteers, repair of roads and the like.
