to the Honored journalist, chief editor of the newspaper "Volyn" (now "Volyn-Nova") Schuco Stepan Dorofiivka would have turned 80 years old. On this occasion, at the initiative of collective of independent socio-political newspaper "Volyn-Nova" at the house where he lived Stepan Land, a memorial plaque. Opening remarks at the Grand opening of a talented colleague said, the current chief editor of the newspaper "Volyn-Nova" Alexander Shorenet. He thanked all who remember Stepan Land and came on the birthday of the talented, wise leader and journalist, the true patriot of his native land to honor him. After all, the man lives until he is remembered. A special word of gratitude he expressed Lutsk city Council and personally acting mayor Igor Polishchuk for support of an initiative to honor the memory of Stepan Cachuca. Igor Polishchuk in his speech stressed: “Stepan Land is an outstanding personality in the history of our region. Outstanding journalist award, an Honorary citizen of Lutsk. I am grateful to the staff and the editor, for what I remember of the person that put a lot of effort to this paper was the same as it is.” Bright memories of Stepan Cachuca shared his friends. Among them people's artiste of Ukraine Lyudmila Prikhodko, famous Volyn journalists Olga Kulish, Svyatoslav a Twinkie, Nicholas Velma, Andrew Bondaruk, Eugene, Hodemchuk, Chairman of the Volyn regional organization of the NUJU Mykhailo Savchak, ex-Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Karpuk, Peter, Filuc, the President of the court of Appeal of Volyn region, other outstanding citizens. Consecrated a memorial plaque to the clergy of Holy Trinity Cathedral. Then friends of Stepan Cachuca went to his grave, to bow before the Patriarch Volyn journalism and lay flowers. Reference: Stephen Sachuk was born on 13 June 1937 in the village of vyshniv Liuboml district, Volyn region. After graduating from the agronomy faculty of the Lviv agricultural Institute worked briefly as an agronomist on the farm, and then moved on to journalism. Professional experience acquired in several regional Newspapers, working first as head of the Department of agriculture, and then Deputy editor. Since 1965 he worked as head of Department in the regional newspaper "Soviet Volyn" (later Volyn "Volyn-Nova") in February 1997, the creative team chose him chief editor of the newspaper. Stepan Land took an active part in public and political life of the region, was repeatedly elected Deputy of the Lutsk city Council. He was twice the winner of the competitions of the National Union of journalists "Golden pen", repeatedly was the winner of "man of the year of Volin Krai". Awarded with medals of Poland for active work in development of Ukrainian-Polish friendship and cooperation. Schuko Stepan Dorofiivka awarded the title "Honored journalist of Ukraine" (1997) and was awarded the order "For merits" III and II degrees. Died 28 March 2012. For considerable contribution into formation of Ukrainian statehood, the introduction of new national frameworks of the journalist, popularizing the ideas of local government to ensure prompt and objective informing of the public about the activities of local authorities and on the occasion of the 70th anniversary from the birthday Schuko Stepan Dorofiivka, editor-in-chief of the regional independent public political newspaper "Volyn-Nova" was awarded the title "Honorary citizen of Lutsk" (decision of the Executive Committee of Lutsk city Council of 27 June 2007 No. 418-1, the decision of Lutsk city Council on July 04, 2007 ¹15/4).
