Chernihiv secondary school I-III stages No. 17 of the Chernihiv city Council, Chernihiv region Chernihiv secondary school I-III stages No. 23 Chernihiv city Council in Chernihiv region will change its name to Chernihiv secondary school I-II stages ¹ 17 of the Council of Chernihiv city and Chernihiv region secondary school of I-II stages No. 23 Chernihiv city Council in Chernihiv region. This decision was taken by the Executive Committee of the city Council at its meeting. The change of names takes place on the basis of petitions of Directors of GPC No. 17 and No. 23. We are talking about the fact that logistical support and personnel capacity of these schools does not allow to fully provide quality educational services to students grades 10-11, as required by the State standard of General secondary education in accordance with part 3 of article 6 of the Law of Ukraine "On General secondary education". During the discussion of this question also indicates that in recent years parents of students in SCHOOLS No. 17 and No. 23 usually choose to teach their children in senior classes in other schools of the city. This right of the parents or persons in Loco parentis, provided by the Law of Ukraine "On General secondary education". As reported by the head of Department of education of the city Council Vasily Bloguri, changes in names of schools meet the "Conceptual foundations of reform of the secondary school", which provides for the introduction of profile education in high school. The educational process in these schools will now run from 1st to 9th class. It was also noted that changes in the titles of educational institutions does not in any way affect the salaries of teaching staff in these schools. Chernihiv city Chairman Vladislav Atroshenko instructed the Department of education of the city Council to lead a network of universities in line with the needs and peculiarities of the neighborhoods of the city, in particular, to study the prospects of Bobrovitsa district, to hold a public hearing on the question of economic efficiency of functioning of these institutions. "Because the school needs to be modern," explained the mayor. The decision comes into force from the beginning of the new academic year on 1 September.
