Vitaly Lui: establishment of small dairy farms – future

the Ministry of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine are looking for ways to abandon the product that is produced by private households, namely from the milk of the second grade. The situation about this says the Director of the Department of agricultural development of the Ternopil regional state administration Vitaly Lui. According to him, in almost all countries of the world have long abandoned such milk, and Ukraine should do that, too. However, initially, this solution will definitely discuss with farmers and experts. It's a serious social impact on the population that traditionally produces milk at home. Meantime, this initiative of the Ministry only at the level of the discussions, but she is absolutely right and appropriate in the medium and long term. "Milk of the second grade, that is, milk, which delayed cooled and is filtered after milking, the raw material which is processed into high quality products. At the same time, all the modern processors that have updated equipment, and produce milk varieties, i.e. European standards, can not "work" with the milk of the second grade. That's why I think that within 8-10 years, "home" milk is completely forbidden to sell for recycling. However, this does not apply to sales at the markets, where not prohibited", – said Vitaly Lui. At the same time, he noted that all the villagers who keep cows at home, you need to take certain measures. Among these is an Association of cooperatives or establishment of minimum dairy family farms, which, in fact, and the future. "This year the Ternopil regional state administration has allocated funding for the purchase of milking machines for the rural population. The Department of agriculture also has a program to reduce the cost of genetics for cattle for farmers. Therefore, every small farmer you need to draw a plan for three to five years to transition from the production of second-class milk to the milk of the first grade. Because these conditions are the need of today. At the same time, the production of high quality milk will allow you to sell it about 40% more expensive. Because the price of milk depends on two factors – the quality and quantity. Quality is milking machines, and the number will allow to unite in cooperatives. That is why it is necessary to aspire and to work at it", – said Vitaly Lui. This was reported in the Ternopil regional state administration
