In DSNs in Zhytomyr region urges citizens not to provoke fires in ecosystems
in the Coming days in Ukraine will be dominated by hot and dry weather. It is worth remembering that the summer is enough even one outstanding matches, unattended campfire or car oil stains, in order to provoke a large-scale fire in the open area. The statistics show that human activity is the main cause of fires in natural ecosystems. This year has already recorded the negative statistics on the increase of fires in open territories. Thus, in comparison with previous years analysis of the occurrence of fires in open territories in Ukraine to 2017 shows an increase in almost 3 times, and the area traversed by fire - 2.4 times. In particular, in forest areas the number of fires has increased by 3 times and 3.7 times; on the moor - in 2,8 times, and the area of 2.3 times; in open terrain, in particular debris, grass and remnants of vegetation - almost 3 times, and area 2.4 times. In the Zhytomyr region in this year, we responded to 186 fires in ecosystems with a total area of over 277 hectares. Most fires - 169 - a fire of dry grass on the roadside, the land reserve of local governments, and non-compliance with fire safety regulations during cleaning of residues. 9 fires was forest and 8 on Tortola. Equally acute is the problem of fires in landfills, because these fires cause public outcry and threaten the life of the population and significantly degrade the ecological condition of the environment due to emission of harmful products of combustion. In addition, during the summer months there is a lot of fires on the peatlands, because the high temperature makes it impossible for their contents in moist condition. Despite the fact that fire season is coming to its active phase and the risk of fires will continue to grow, the State service of Ukraine for emergency situations addresses to citizens with the request not to provoke fires in open territories and to adhere to basic safety rules while camping. During the fire season is prohibited: - to visit the coniferous forest at the announcement of extreme fire danger 5-go a class; - to plant fires in woods and plantations; - to call the car to the forest; to smoke, throw in the woods and plantations of the outstanding matches or cigarette butts; -leave in the forest impregnated with gasoline, kerosene, oil or other flammable material cloth; - to hunt in the woods with a firearm; - create a dump and burn waste; - to burn stubble and crop remnants in agricultural fields.
