Exempted from criminal liability of Donetsk,Rivne who confessed to law enforcement about his participation in the terrorist organization "DNR"
Rivne city court 10.07.2017 the results of the preparatory court hearing granted the Prosecutor's request for exemption from criminal liability 57-year-old native of Donetsk region who informed the police about his participation in a terrorist organization. Based on the collected evidence proved that a man in 2014 for the promise of monetary reward, he joined one of the armed terrorist organization "DNR", which change the boundaries of the territory and the state border of Ukraine. Within 2 months, the man was engaged in protection of strategic facilities and buildings on the territory of the Slavic area of Donetsk region. However, disappointed in the activities of the terrorist organization, from Donetsk have left the temporarily occupied territory and came to the Region, where frankly admitted employees of the security Service of Ukraine in its illegal anti-Ukrainian activities. - During pre-trial investigation, the man facilitated the investigation of the disclosure of a criminal offense under part 1 of article 258-3 of UK of Ukraine (participation in a terrorist organization). Therefore, on the basis of part 2, and 44 articles of the criminal code, and given the fact that the actions of men is not a crime, the Prosecutor's office of area sent to court the petition for the release of the latter from criminal responsibility, which the court granted, released the suspect from criminal responsibility and closed the criminal proceedings – the Prosecutor of Department of supervision over observance of laws by bodies of SBU, and state border service of Prosecutor's office of Rivne region Andrey Babich, which provided procedural guidance pre-trial investigation. Reference: in accordance with part 2 of article 258-3 of the criminal code a person who voluntarily informed law enforcement authorities about terrorist activities, contributed to its termination or the disclosure of crimes committed in connection with the creation or activities of such group or organization, exempt from criminal liability.
