In Zhytomyr region recommendations for collecting and eating wild mushrooms

every year there are cases of poisoning. Among the main reasons – the consumption of inedible mushrooms or incorrectly prepared conditionally edible. To prevent mushroom poisoning: • Buy mushrooms only for their designated sales areas (shops, greenhouses, specialized kiosks). • Collect and you buy only certain edible mushrooms. • Do not pick mushrooms that grow near highways, industrial wastelands, former bins, chemically and radiation hazardous areas. • Avoid unknown mushrooms. • Do not try raw mushrooms taste. • Rinse the mushrooms, with the oil and the wet work, remove the hat on a slippery film. • At the initial stage of processing boil the mushrooms in water for 7-10 minutes, then drain the broth. Only then the mushrooms can be fried or boiled. • Be sure to steep or boil conditionally edible mushrooms that are going to glaze. • Improperly prepared canned mushrooms can lead to very severe diseases such as botulism. Symptoms of poisoning are nausea, stomach pain, sweating, convulsions, decreased blood pressure, involuntary urination, diarrhea, development of symptoms of heart insufficiency. The primary signs of poisoning appear within 1-4 hours after consumption of mushrooms. Pain and nausea are repeated several times through 6-48 hours, and death occurs 5-10 days after poisoning. First aid for mushroom poisoning: 1.Call "Ambulance". 2.Drink strong coffee, tea or lightly salted water, restoring water-salt balance. 3.Find out who else took the dish of mushrooms that led to the poisoning and lead prevention activities. It is forbidden in cases of poisoning to use any medicines and food, it can accelerate absorption of toxins in the intestines. This was reported in the Zhytomyr regional state administration
