At a joint meeting in the Prosecutor's office of Rivne region discussed the status of combating juvenile delinquency
In the prosecution of Rivne region 18.07.2017 the joint meeting of heads of law enforcement bodies discussed the status of combating of juvenile delinquency for 6 months of 2017, as well as activities aimed at detecting and preventing criminal acts among minors. As noted by the Chairman of the meeting – the Deputy Prosecutor of the region Taras Ilyashuk, as juvenile delinquency is always a concern, and the negative trend of growing levels of juvenile crime in the region and necessitated the event in this format to search for new means for its prevention. According to statistics, in the first half of 2017 minor committed in the territory of the region 71 a crime against 65 in the past. In particular, more crimes were committed by teenagers on site Bereznovsky, Dubno and Malinovskogo areas. Basically, the crimes committed are crimes against property: theft, robbery, hijacking. The Prosecutor's office concerned about the fact that adolescents have committed violations of 9 previous convictions, 4 committed a crime in a condition of alcoholic intoxication. The reasons for this, according to the Deputy Prosecutor of the region, is not only the children in adverse family environment, upbringing in dysfunctional families where the parents are not properly perform their parental responsibilities, but also to some extent the weakening of preventive work with the persons in charge of the police, probation, formal social support, as well as the abandonment of "troubled Teens" out of sight of the teachers. "We have to admit that is aimed at detecting and preventing criminal acts among minors work though carried out, but now is in urgent need of revitalization on the part of all law enforcement bodies and services of the state system of prevention", - said Taras, Ilyashuk. He also drew attention to the problem of involving lately a minor in the illegal activities associated with illegal extraction of mineral resources, suicidal groups in social networks, and urged the participants to search for new forms and methods that would reduce such negative manifestations. Following the meeting, subject to the expressed by all participants in the proposals developed by a number of measures aimed at improvement of the criminal situation in the teenage environment, promoting a minor in the realization of their legitimate rights and interests.
