Hennadiy Zubko: Signed energy efficiency laws will give a multiplier effect for the economy

Petro Poroshenko noted the importance of the adoption of the Law On "energy efficiency Fund", which is approved by all international partners and financial institutions. Vice Prime Minister – Minister of regional development, construction and housing and communal services of Ukraine Gennady Zubko noted that the introduction of these two laws will have a multiplier effect for the development of the national economy, attracting investment and creating new jobs. "The ideology of the Law "On energy efficiency of buildings" are defined by the European Directive number 30, which allows you to jump to systems analysis certification of buildings and identify practical recommendations – what to do to reduce consumption. It is also creating a new market of energy auditors and support energy service companies. Already in Lutsk, Dnipro, Sumy, Odesa, Kharkiv, Lviv, there are examples of reducing consumption to 60% with the implementation of the relevant recommendations. This tool will help increase investment and attract investment," - said Gennady Zubko. In his opinion, the second Law – "energy efficiency Fund" provides financial and technical tool for the modernisation of multi-storey residential sector. "The law is a joint development with the EU, the German Government, who are willing to further technical support of the Fund. "And this is the creation of 25 offices in Ukraine, which will be donated to provide counselling services. It – financing Fund to compensate up to 50% of the costs to owners to upgrade buildings. This – the innovation and modern technology. The law will motivate owners to invest in resource conservation. And therefore is a significant opportunity for development of small and medium business in the direction of energy service companies, audit firms, engineering organizations, and so forth," - said Gennady Zubko.
