20 Jul began the study visit the city of Chairpersons, their deputies and specialists in the field of housing from many regions of Ukraine. The event takes place in the framework of the national exchange visits for officials of local authorities “Routes successes”. The Executive Director of the Association of Ukrainian cities Oleksandr Slobozhan said that the Association of Ukrainian cities shows the best practices in the sphere of housing and communal services. “Program of exchange visits for representatives of local authorities was founded with the aim of providing them directly to explore the experience, to communicate with specialists and colleagues from other cities, - noted Oleksandr Slobozhan. - Today's visit to Ternopil aims to disseminate the best practices in the modernization of district heating, the use of alternative energy sources, thermoduric housing. Participants will be able to see firsthand by visiting our about’objects of housing and utilities infrastructure of Ternopil”. The head of Ternopol Sergey Nadal congratulated the guests and expressed gratitude to USAID for supporting this project and briefly told about activity of city Council in the sphere energoeffektivnost. “We continue to work on energy saving and thermal modernization in Ternopil, to reduce gas consumption. This activity is one of the priorities of the city Council - said the mayor. – Six years ago, when the total city budget 800 mln. the sum of the energy consumption amounted to more than UAH 1.1 billion. Since that time, we work hard to ensure the most efficient use of energy, to carry out activities of energoeffektivnosti”, says city Chairman of Ternopil. Since that time there has individual heat points (ITP) in educational institutions. this practice is beginning to be realized even in homes. “the city has a plan in the next few years of installation and so FORTH, along with meters for heat 750 homes, - adds the head of Ternopil. - This year, ITP’would appear in almost 250 homes, through which residents receive round the clock hot water, and heat will be supplied automatically according to weather conditions”.
