In the Ternopil region has laid a capsule under construction of the "Water arena"

While on a working visit to the Ternopil region, Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman visited the riverbed of the Siret, where in 2017 the current year plans to start the construction of the "Water arena Ternopil". To make this process easy and successful with the participation of Volodymyr Groysman, Chairman of the Ternopil regional state administration Stepan Barna, mayor of Ternopil Sergei gave, the chief coach of the national team of Ukraine in rowing and Canoeing Yuri Cheban and President of the canoe Federation of Ukraine Sergey Chernyshov on the future site of the arena was laid a symbolic capsule. At the same time the head of the Government had the opportunity to get acquainted with the project of reconstruction of hydrotechnical constructions of rowing channel and water sports infrastructure "Water arena Ternopil", as well as to make sure the scale of this project. "This is a historic moment. After all, what could not do in Soviet times (the construction of a rowing canal was begun in 1988 – ed.) we can implement now in independent Ukraine. And it happens through the combined efforts of the state, region and city," – said Vladimir Groisman during a capsule-laying and noted that this will be another positive step towards the support and development of sport in Ukraine. In turn, the Chairman of the Ternopil regional state administration Stepan Barna noted that this construction is unique, because a rowing canal, which is in the Ternopil region, in Ukraine. Now there is a small channel in Dnepropetrovsk, but there is no infrastructure and environment for athletes, coaches and judges. To date, the project for the construction of the rowing channel in the region have already received support in the regional state administration and the Ministry of regional development. The total project cost in the range of 68 mln. The project is planned in two stages. Now, the allocated funds for the first phase of works in the amount of 17.5 million, of whom 10.5 million UAH. – state funds and $ 7 million co-financing from the local budget. For these funds plan to reconstruct the hydraulic structures, pedestrian bridge and strengthening of the coast, to build marinas, launch towers, tribunes like. "Athletes from all over Ukraine will have the opportunity to train in appropriate conditions. They will be provided all the infrastructure with the construction of hotels and sports complexes, playgrounds, tennis courts for training and competitions in various sports. This stage, this is actually the second phase of the project. Positive is also the fact that the logistics of Ternopil is very good, because we are close to Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania. This will allow our athletes to travel to neighboring countries for competitions and for exchange of experience. And, in particular, we have the good tradition of water sports, so it is important to maintain this superiority. And the construction of the rowing channel at the same time, will give impetus to the region and the city to develop infrastructure and tourism," concluded Stepan Barna.
