The Prosecutor's office of Volyn region provides the tasks in the field of international cooperation
In accordance with applicable law and international treaties of Ukraine the Prosecutor's office bodies shall ensure the implementation of international cooperation during criminal proceedings. The implementation of these powers by the Prosecutor's office of Volyn region since the beginning of the year, organized and implemented 46 requests the competent authorities of foreign States on legal assistance in criminal matters. The lion's share of requests made requests from the Republic of Poland (30) and Belarus (10). Also provided international legal assistance law enforcement agencies, Hungarian, Slovak, Lithuanian, Latvian Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan. Despite the fact that Volyn is a border region, in the bodies of preliminary investigation have questions, the answers to which can be given only by the competent authorities of foreign States. With this in mind, in the first half of the current year Prosecutor's office of Volyn sent abroad 20 requests for international legal assistance within the under investigation by the investigative authorities of criminal proceedings, of which 14 were addressed to the competent authorities of the Republic of Poland. Do not remain without appropriate investigation and, if there is a reason – the punishment of acts committed by locals outside of our state. So, this year the area Prosecutor's office made a decision about adopting from the competent authorities of the Republic of Poland 4 criminal proceedings on the facts of Commission by citizens of Ukraine criminal offences abroad. One of last year's criminal proceedings against the volynyanin who committed a traffic accident in the Republic of Poland, this year with the indictment sent to court. To ensure the inevitability of punishment, the Prosecutor's office in the current year abroad 2 application for transfer to Ukraine of two persons who have committed criminal offences and tried to avoid criminal responsibility by hiding in other countries. The results of the Prosecutor's office of Volyn extradition check one person was transported from the field for subsequent extradition to his Homeland-Azerbaijan - for criminal responsibility for the crimes perpetrated there.
