Mykola Kuleba: Zhytomyr region will be an example for other regions in the reform of boarding schools
In Zhytomyr began a two-day training for strategic planning "Reform of institutional care establishments and education of children". The opening of the training took place April 12, with the participation of the Plenipotentiary of the President of Ukraine for children's rights Nikolay Kuleba, Deputy Chairman of regional state administration Yaroslav Laguta, head of the European Department of the Fund lyumos Irina Malanchuk. And while working in groups we will come to more specific recommendations. According to the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for children's rights Nikolay Kuleba, Zhytomyr oblast at the forefront of the reform of institutional care establishments, because the first developed a draft regional plan for the reform of boarding schools. "Very pleased that we're moving on. Thank you for such coordinated work. Reform is difficult but we are not the first going through it. I'm optimistic not only that we will make a good plan, but also successfully implement it. Zhytomyr is an example for other areas. I urge everyone to be as active in discussions and work in groups. Because it will depend on how the plan will be effective for children living in residential institutions and those that require quality services," – said Nikolay Kuleba. The participants of the training got acquainted with the methodology for the assessment of establishments of institutional care and education of children and the criteria for reform, which was developed in the National office with denticular. The next stage of the training – group work on assessing and ranking institutions, and then each group will present their achievements.
