In the press center of the Department of information activities and communications with the public of the regional state administration held a press conference devoted to the beginning of project implementation the NGO "sprout" "New police + community=security and development of the Vinnytsia region", aimed at facilitating the implementation of new principles of law enforcement Vinnytsia region, building partnership and cooperation between the police and the population, including the population that has a disability. "The project is implemented in Vinnytsya city public organization of social development and the formation of certain vulnerable categories of young people "PAROSTOK" with the support of the Foundation "Revival,- said the head of NGO "PAROSTOK" Irina Locusts. The population expects from the new police professionalism and high level of tolerance. Special attention deserves the tolerant treatment of vulnerable populations that require greater attention and additional protection of their rights by the police. These groups include representatives of internally displaced persons, people with physical or mental disabilities, the elderly and children. The police should be one of the initiators of the nationwide process of social adaptation of the above-mentioned vulnerable categories of the population". The press conference participants discussed the ways of realization of the project "New police + community=security and development of the Vinnytsia region", in particular, the question of accessibility. "In the framework of this project we will monitor the availability of police stations not only in Vinnitsa, and Kalinovka, Litin, Zhmerynka, Koziatyn, Bar, Lipovec, iliyncy , Haisyn, Vinnytsya and Khmilnyk. Our goal is to show where the desired availability because there are many organizations that are willing to Finance. This is not a criticism, just an attempt through constructive dialogue to make the services qualitative and affordable," said Irina Locusts. The chief of sector of public relations of UMVD, the militia Lieutenant Colonel Anna Oleynik thanked the activists of the NGO "SPROUT" for the initiative and expressed willingness to cooperate: "police Reform is not only the name change. Police structure should be a service to the public. People need to feel secure, including people with disabilities". She also noted that the police act spelled out the new rule, which previously was not providing assistance as pre-medical and medical, a man caught in a difficult situation. Therefore, the police Department will determine the circle of those employees and departments that communicate with the population: patrol police, district policemen. For them there will be courses in sign language and developed pocket dictionary of gestures to a policeman, if necessary, quick to use, understand and assist people who speak sign language. The new police must be one of the initiators of the nationwide process of social adaptation of vulnerable categories of the population. Therefore, the aim of the project is to promote the introduction of new principles of law-enforcement activity of Vinnytsia region, building partnership and cooperation between the police and the population, including the population that has a disability through awareness-raising and monitoring activities aimed at setting priorities for policing-oriented community of Vinnitsa region.
