Chernivtsi has signed grant and loan agreement for the project "energy Efficiency in public sector buildings"
6 July 2016 in Kiev took place the signing of the loan and grant agreements that provides for the granting of a loan from Nordic environment Corporation (NEFCO) in the amount of 5 million Euro and the grant from the Foundation Å5Ð in the amount of 3 million euros for the project "energy Efficiency in public sector buildings in the city of Chernivtsi. The project involves the introduction of adapted separately for each building energy efficiency measures 33 (36 buildings) institutions of education and health of Chernivtsi. The result of the project will reduce energy consumption and decrease cost of operation of engineering systems in municipal buildings, creating a comfortable environment. The decision on attraction of the loan was made the Chernivtsi city Council 17 of may this year, as of July 1, 2016, received the appropriate approval of the amount and conditions of the borrowings from the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. Chernivtsi mayor Alex Kaspruk noted that the participation of our city in this investment project Chernivtsi very important and necessary. "We have set a goal to change the quality of life of Chernivtsi, lead to a whole other level of conditions of stay of children in kindergartens and schools, visitors of medical institutions, which will be implemented energy efficiency measures. Thanks to the project, the expected significant reduction of harmful emissions, and annual savings will amount to more than 16 million UAH for a year. Each institution planned a variety of work from restoration of heating systems, insulation of walls and attics, floors and lighting, replacement of Windows and doors to the restoration of the ventilation shafts, which will significantly improve air quality, and lighting, will bring significant savings.
