Ternopil region will learn from the best practices of Lithuania
Agreement on cooperation between the Ternopil regional state administration and the regional development Council Taraskovo County of the Republic of Lithuania was signed on 26 August. Part in signing was taken by the Chairman of the Ternopil regional state administration Stepan Barna and Chairman of the Board of regional development Taraskovo County Jonas Gudauskas. According to Stepan Barney, cooperation with Lithuanian partners will now come to a new level, and will focus primarily on projects in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy. In addition, it is important to learn from the Lithuanian experience in the formation of territorial defence units, because in the current period for Ukraine, the issue of protection of their territories is very serious. "We have great prospects for cooperation with Lithuania and in particular Turskim County, the Foundation of which was signed during may this year the International investment forum. We also hope to attract Ternopil region in implementation of EU projects, in particular in the area of decentralization, cross-border cooperation", - said the head of RSA. How, in turn, said Jonas, Gudauskas, Ukraine and Lithuania have a similar history of development like mental, so the exchange of experience in economic, social and humanitarian spheres will be useful for both States. In the framework of the meeting a round table was held, which was attended by heads of districts and representatives of the business community. During the discussion of the Lithuanian partners had the opportunity to ensure the seriousness of intentions of the Ukrainian side to implement joint projects, and also received answers to the questions concerning the peculiarities of doing business in Ukraine. As it became known after the meeting, in addition to traditional agricultural sector, Ternopil region offers a number of projects for investments in industry processing industry. From 2007 to 2010 operated a Framework agreement on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation between Ternopil administration and the administration of the chief Taraskovo County. However, after the administrative reform in the Republic of Lithuania this document is no longer valid. Therefore, due to the signing of the Agreement SNO Ternopil region will be able to resume and expand cooperation with the Lithuanian side.
