Border guard service of Ukraine in Zhytomyr received equipment to strengthen the border with Belarus.

In Zhytomyr on 22 November, took place the solemn ceremony of transfer of the State border service of Ukraine, technical equipment and vehicles valued at two million euros. All the equipment purchased in the framework of the second phase of the international project SRCAP that strengthens the capacity of border agencies of Ukraine and Belarus on the protection of the common border. The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the International organization for migration (IOM). The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman of Zhytomyr regional state administration Yaroslav Laguta, first Deputy Chairman of the regional Council Sergey Kramarenko, Deputy Chairman of the State border service of Ukraine Lieutenant General Vasyl Servatus, sector Manager of the EU delegation to Ukraine Stefan Dahlgren, program coordinator of migration management of the Representative office of the International organization for migration in Ukraine Laura Scarett. Yaroslav Laguta thanked foreign partners for the fruitful cooperation aimed at strengthening Ukraine's borders. "we are witnessing a truly historic event. This confirms that Ukraine's borders are the borders of the European Union. And from the safety of these borders depends on the security of the whole continent. It's nice that technology that we see, it does not show the instances, most are already serving on the borders of our state. I wish the Ukrainian border resumed in the borders, which is enshrined in all international instruments and all remained peaceful and untouched," said Deputy Chairman of regional state administration.
