In Ternopil held "Hockey on lake"
At the initiative of a group of hockey fans. Ternopil and the support of the Ternopil city Council on 28-29 January in Ternopil will take place competitions on hockey on the lake “Ternopil HockeyClassic”. The tournament will feature teams from Ternopil, Krivoy Rog, Odessa, Kiev, Lutsk, Lviv and other cities of the country. With the aim of proper training and holding of competitions the mayor of Ternopol Sergey Nadal signed a decree on establishment of the organizing Committee. "Competition rules "Hockey on the lake” we plan to Ternopil to spend traditionally. The convenient geographical location of our city and the size of the lake allow to develop the sport. It is important that we use our was not only in the summer for water-motor competitions and winter», – said the mayor Sergey Nadal. Competition «Hockey on the lake” is a variation of the classic hockey, but with several important differences: there are no borders, defend, no goalkeepers and the game is played outdoors on a frozen lake or river. Simplified rules aimed at reducing the power struggle and force of shots, increase the skills of possession of the puck, transmit clear pass and high-skill skating. This gives the opportunity to involve more young people in sport, showing them that there are available forms of hockey. By the way, do in North America in the competition «U. S. POND HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP”. The popularity of the competition says their enormity: over 1,500 participants that play on 25 ice. As noted by the head of Department of seven’th, youth and sports Mykola Cool, the competition will take place in our city for the second time. In 2013, Ternopil pond recorded record of Ukraine – on arrangement the largest skating rink in Ukraine, Ternopil city Council awarded the Diploma of Ukrainian Book of records.
