According to Valentina Kirilyuk, the main priority of the Department in the past year was maintaining a leading position in Vinnytsia region in agricultural production of Ukraine, because 2016 was the most successful year in the field of agricultural production. "In terms of gross output, the region took the first place among regions of Ukraine, because the increase last year amounted to 17.5%. For 2016 there is a higher proportion of the region in the national production of agricultural products is 8.4 %. The region produced most of the other areas of gross output per 1 person, the figure is 2.2 times srednegorodskoy. Also, collected a record amount of grain. Grown the largest number among beet producing regions of sugar beet, over 2.6 million tons and produced approximately 435 thousand tons of sugar. Achieved a leading position in potato production and fruit production. The successful implementation of investment projects in the livestock industry gave the opportunity to increase meat production to 447,8 thousand tons, which brought the region on the first place in the production of meat. Retained leading position in milk production and number of cattle, including cows kept by all categories of farms," said the official.
