In communities of Ternopil asked to choose "eco-sheriffs"
In every community should be the person responsible for environmental safety. To identify such experts in the field suggested that the head of the State ecological Inspectorate in the Ternopil region Eduard Ferenc during the weekly meeting of the Head of regional state administration with heads of areas and GSS. According to him, the reform of environmental services provides for the introduction in Ukraine of the environmental office of the Sheriff. This intent was previously announced by the Ministry of ecology and natural resources. The eco-sheriffs would be elected by the local communities at the sessions of the rural and urban councils. "In the field of ecology in the region remain a number of problematic issues. Among them, the treatment facilities and solid waste management, and monitoring of forestry, hunting and water management. With the approach of spring, become relevant issues to prevent burning of leaves, as well as the removal and sale of plants listed in the Red book. They all require not only further study but also a professional approach. Therefore, additional expertise in the areas of the region, especially in communities is essential" - says Eduard Ferenc.
