How to regulate the price of medicines in Ukraine? The price of the drugs that are compensated by the state, must be justified. The Ministry of health has compared the prices of similar INNS in 5 neighbouring countries of Ukraine – Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Latvia. Based on median prices per daily dose medications in these countries, the Government sets a price limit on a drug that will compensate the state. It is important to understand that the price in the Registry of medicines, the cost of which shall be reimbursed (column 11) is the wholesale price. Maximum wholesale selling price per daily dose is contained in the Registry of marginal wholesale prices (column 6). The maximum allowed price in the pharmacy the wholesale price per pack + 10% supply allowance + 15% allowed to trade allowances + 7% VAT.
