In Ukraine, the ongoing road safety Week movement
From 8 to 14 may is the Fourth global Week of road traffic safety of the UN in Ukraine. During the event special attention is paid to compliance with motor carriers of legislation on road transport, control over execution of rules of provision of passenger automobile transport, preventive measures on prevention of road accidents, raising compliance with road traffic rules of the road and safety of transportation of passengers and cargo. The purpose of the activities is to enhance road safety, prevention of road accidents during transportation of passengers and goods by road. Reference. In comparison with the year 2015 the level of accidents caused by drivers licensed road transport decreased by 4.3%, the number of fatalities of employees decreased by 38%. Since the beginning of this year was 54.5 per thousand accidents. This is by 12.1% more, to level with the previous year. Every eighth accident victims – 723 people were killed and more than 8 thousand were injured. Doubled the number of road accident with participation of drivers of public transport.
