The Prosecutor's office of Rivne oblast instituted criminal proceedings on the fact of contamination of the convict immunodeficiency virus
the Prosecutor's office of Rivne region initiated pre-trial investigation on the fact of improper performance of medical or other worker of his professional duties resulting contamination persons with human immunodeficiency virus or other incurable infectious disease (signs of the crime provided part 1 of article 131 of the criminal code). The basis for inclusion in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations the information about the criminal offense was an appeal of a convict serving a sentence in one of the institutions of the State penal service of Ukraine in Rivne region, on personal reception the head of the regional Prosecutor's office Bogdan Podovinnikova. At present pre-judicial investigation for the purpose of clarification of all actual circumstances of Commission of a criminal offense. According to the law this crime is punished by restriction of liberty for a term up to three years or imprisonment for the same term with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to three years.
