Ternopil region is preparing for harvesting of early grain and leguminous crops

As reported during a video meeting with the chairmen of regional state administrations, Deputy Director of the Department of agriculture of the Ternopil regional state administration Volodymyr Stakhiv, according to operational information of agricultural enterprises of all forms of ownership need to collect cereals and legumes on the area of 314,4 thousand hectares of 59.1 thousand hectares of rapeseed. Of them of early grain and leguminous – 212,9 thousand hectares, in particular, wheat – 138,6 thousand hectares, barley – 54,3 thousand hectares, rye – 0,5 thousand ha, oats – 1,4 thousand hectares and peas – 18,1 thousand hectares. "In the agricultural enterprises for the collection of early grain in the region will involve 1176 combine harvesters, of which 911 units of high-performance combine harvesters of foreign production. Additionally, agreements are in place to attract households 172 harvesters. Just at the harvest of the current year taking into account the forecast will work further 1348 units that will speed up the harvesting of grain crops", – said Volodymyr Stakhiv. However, he added that for the post harvest handling of grain in the farms of the region are available 504 grain cleaners, grain dryers 228, including on Elevator complexes and bakery 47 dryers. The capacity of the existing grain drying equipment allows a day to process about 130 thousand tons of grain. Also in the region is 33 certified grain warehouses with total capacity of more than 1300 thousand tons of simultaneous storage of grain.
