In Khmelnytsky oblast rescuers warn citizens not to go out on the thin ice
In connection with an increase in temperature decreased the thickness of the ice cover on the reservoirs of Ukraine. Walking or ice fishing in such conditions are hazardous to health’I and the lives of people. However, citizens mostly ignore basic safety rules and go out on thin ice, and causes tragic consequences. So, on 12 January in Khmelnytsky oblast for childish pranks on thin ice killed 7-year-old boy. In addition, since the beginning of January the rescuers have already recorded 12 deaths on water bodies (including 1 child) in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Odesa, Ternopil, Kharkiv regions and Kyiv city. That's why now in all regions of the country continue information-rose’annual raids,during which experts of gschs of Ukraine with the involvement of representatives of the media visit places of mass stay of people on the ice and conduct with citizens preventive conversation, hand them the amp’leaflets and warning content. So, for January 13, such raids were conducted in Volyn, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Chernivtsi, Poltava, Zaporozhye, Cherkassy and Vinnitsa regions. Rescuers remind fans of winter fishing, some basic safety on the ice. In particular, before stepping on the ice, you should make sure that the ice is solid (not less than 7-10 cm, for a mass crossing – no less than 15 cm). Especially careful should be close to the coast, where the ice is not tightly’unites with the land, any cracks under the ice may be air. Every fisherman should have a means of self-rescue and be knowledgeable with the rules of conduct on the ice. Also forbidden to enter the ice in a drunken state. In any case can not let the children unattended to play on the ice. In addition, rescuers tell and demonstrate to citizens how to help in case the man fell through the ice. After all, the ability to help the victim will help to preserve human life.
