Rescuers of Lviv guaranteed safe mass bathing during the celebration of the Baptism of

All of the lions’Yana and guests of the city for a long time was waiting for the final big holiday of Christmas and new year cycle, which is popularly known as the Jordan, or Baptism. According to ancient beliefs, all the water on this day is considered sacred and has medicinal properties. Traditionally on this day in all cities and villages people bless the water, and swimming in natural waters to receive the grace of God. On this day, rescuers of Lviv region in cooperation with local authorities, event organizers, Lviv Central regional diving rescue service and doctors were on guard for the security of the population, organizing duty in places of mass bathing. Such places were identified in advance by local authorities in each of the districts of Lviv region. So, for example, this year it's safe to jump in the freezing water was in the reservoirs placed in the Park "witch" of the city of Lviv, near the village Vereshchytsia, Yavoriv lake, lakes, local towns of Zolochiv and Peremyshlyany, Western bug within the city, the lake Sudorozhnoe in Nikolaevsk the area, etc. To the celebration and "spiritual healing" has passed safely, next to each specific waterfront rescue organized rescue posts, equipped with means of rescue of people on water, which was on duty experts of gschs. In General on the territory of Lviv region organized 24 such temporary positions. Duty on them has attracted about one hundred rescuers, equipment and rescue boats. Chrezvychainyi closely followed by everyone who decided to plunge into the icy water. These security measures are absolutely justified because the temperature of water in Jordan is quite low – enough for a seasoned "walrus", but too low for a beginner. The effects of bathing in such water for untrained people it is difficult to predict. In General, traditional bathing in consecrated water passed without an annoying adventure. Lviv rescuers hope that it will remain during the whole year.
