In the State archives of Ternopil region opened an exhibition to the Day of Unity of Ukraine
Documentary exhibition "unity is the power of the people", dedicated to the 97th anniversary of the day of Unification of Ukraine, was opened on 21 January at the premises of the State archives of Ternopil oblast with the participation of scientists, historians, government officials and journalists. A number of materials about the historical unification of the Western and Eastern Ukrainian lands was prepared by the staff of the State archive of Ternopil region. "On January 22, 1919, the Day of unification of the Ukrainian national Republic and West Ukrainian people's Republic — this is an extremely important stage in the formation of Ukrainian statehood, — said the Deputy Chairman – chief of staff of the Ternopol regional state administration Igor Wons. — We should remember such important dates. Because the people who do not know their past will not have a future." This exhibition opens a glorious page of the history of Ukrainian statehood. HER goal is highlighting the prerequisites of proclamation the act of unification, the historical significance of the unification of the ZUNR and UNR, as well as the development of national consciousness, dignity and patriotism. "I thank the staff of the State archives for their research and popularization work, — said the Deputy Chairman of the Ternopol regional Council Lubomir Krupa. — An event that occurred in January of 1919 is the first factual and legal rank, which led to the unification of Ukraine. Although, it should be noted that not right, those who argue that the independence we got is easy. Millions of victims have given my life for it, no country in the world has not paid such a price".
