How to avoid becoming a victim of ice – tips from the Transcarpathian rescuers

Sleet in the winter is a great threat not only for drivers but also for pedestrians. At first glance, a simple walk in the street can complete the treatment in traumatologic office of hospital. Therefore, Transcarpathian rescuers urge people to observe simple rules of safety during icy conditions. In particular, you should consider these recommendations: 1) choose the right shoes – it should have a deep tread pattern on the sole; 2) go slowly, relax your legs slightly at the knees; 3) do not keep your hands in your pockets – this increases the likelihood not only of falling and getting serious injuries, especially fractures; 4) stepping on ice, the maximum load do not on p’fifth and the toes; 5) walk on the pavement, strewed by sand or salt, or neritopsina snow; it is desirable to move the inner edge of the sidewalk; 6) beware of rollers, covered with snow, walk the lighted part of the sidewalk; 7) do not cross the road – during the ice increases the braking distance of the machine, so the drop in front of a car can cause serious injury; 8) when you drop the head should be pressed a chin to a breast, and hands – to the body (the first appointment will protect the back of the head from the sudden collision with the sidewalk, and the second – from fractures and dislocations).
