Vinnitsa took part in the national meeting final draft of the ODIHR/OSCE, "Strengthening the security of religious communities and other groups in Ukraine", which took place on 25-26 February in Kiev. The event attracted about 100 people, in particular, representatives of the international mission of the OSCE/ODIHR, governmental authorities, experts on religious issues, law enforcement, religious organizations of different confessions. At the meeting they analyzed achieved during the project studies for the establishment of dialogue between representatives of different faiths, government and Church leaders, the improvement of police response to crimes of hate and outlined prospects for future cooperation. Project Manager of the OSCE/ODIHR noted the importance of further cooperation with Ukrainian representatives and expressed hope that its recommendations will help to strengthen and reform efforts in the area of freedom of religion or belief and crimes of hate. An important achievement of the project for the region, as noted by Igor Saletsky, was the restoration of cooperation between representatives of regional state administrations, in charge of ensuring the implementation of the state-Church and inter-ethnic policy and religious organizations of various denominations. According to him, regional dialogue, which developed in Vinnytsia region, is efficient and effective for the prevention of crimes motivated by hatred and religious conflicts. We will remind, the project "Strengthening the security of religious communities and other groups in Ukraine" was implemented in Ukraine the OSCE/ODIHR from January 2015 to February 2016. His goal was to increase the security of religious and belief communities in two pilot regions: Vinnytsya oblast jointly with Cherkasy and Odessa region together with Kherson and Nikolaev. The project held a number of national, regional meetings, seminars and round tables with the participation of civil society, religious organizations, law enforcement agencies and public authorities. On completion of the project by joint efforts of the participants, recommendations were prepared for further reforms in policies, laws and practices regarding freedom of religion or belief to prevent and respond to crimes motivated by hatred.
